Okay to start this place use to be great. It could have a romantic tone. The outdoor tent is fun for large parties but horribly understaffed. Great catered food, outstanding actually. The hotel needs some help. Bring your own pillows. Don't drink the well water. I have lived in this area my whole life and remember its glory days and hope they continue working on improvement but remember that places like this have a hard time surviving. Good luck Riverwood, you've got a uniqueness that's hard to find and even harder to maintain.
This place was purchased by new owners recently (December 2017). The previous owners let it go down. The new owners have been fixing it up to bring it back to its glory days, what a beautiful place with so much more potential. Its now being used as an extended stay, great staff, great place to stay. EXTREMELY affordable! Located on the river with awesome fishing. 3.7 miles to Albertville Mall.
We just had a family reunion at the Riverwood Inn. We had a band and dance in one of the conference rooms, the kids loved the pool and there were small quiet intimate areas for visiting too. Timothy's had consistent high quality food everybody liked. The property has many trails for exploring. I might even bring my fishing pole next time. It is neat to find a place that is classy and comfortable so close to the metro area.
We were married at Riverwood Inn this last weekend (Sept 13th, 2014) and were very happy with everything! Julie was great from the beginning. She answered all of my questions and reassured me that everything was going to go great. She recommended Wells Catering for our dinner and we were very happy with their service and the food was wonderful. We received many compliments! The grounds were beautiful, as always and our guest's rooms were very clean! Julie was working all night to ensure our guests were happy and well taken care of. I appreciate all of her hard work to make sure our day was perfect! And thank you to Mother Nature because we had a beautiful ceremony outside at the "over look" and the reception in the tent was perfect. Our guests loved the cozy feel of the tent at night when all lit up. Hoping many more brides can enjoy a wedding at Riverwood!
